It's a bit scary how little people know about real food and making it at home. How many people can name all of Angelina Jolie's kids but can't tell you what's in their food?

The only low-fat food I think is good is homemade yogurt made with low-fat milk. It doesn't contain fillers, so you get more calcium per serving, which is important to me as a vegetarian. I could keep going, but I'll just say: great post, really important topic and great links to make informed decisions for ourselves.Stacyhttp://littlebluehen.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2046060388994549524.post-8211113920219482742010-02-22T13:24:18.722-08:002010-02-22T13:24:18.722-08:00I feel the same way that you do..I get so angry wh...I feel the same way that you do..I get so angry when I read food labels and it can be frustrating when someone says "but it says 100% natural." Have you read "The Schwarzbein Principle" That is the book that opened my eyes to the myths of low-fat, sugar free foods..along with the benefits of eating organic food. I hightly recommend this book to everyone!Kala-loo Soup!https://www.blogger.com/profile/01633738144635896582noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2046060388994549524.post-26620323856420821902010-02-22T09:14:51.581-08:002010-02-22T09:14:51.581-08:00Colleen: I also get frustrated when I hear people...Colleen: I also get frustrated when I hear people advocating low-fat products. It bugs me to no end when I see nutritionists on twitter and blogs advocating low-fat or fat-free dairy, etc. So many low-fat things have other icky additives to compensate for flavor. I'm a big believer in real butter. :)

Beautiful meal, too!Colleen https://www.blogger.com/profile/11773374045180308060noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2046060388994549524.post-30438985661252891782010-02-22T07:52:36.428-08:002010-02-22T07:52:36.428-08:00Thanks for the reminder that its always better to ...Thanks for the reminder that its always better to use real fat, like butter or olive oil. I pretty much cook with whole grains, veggies, (and some baked goods here and there) but it can be really confusing and overwhelming to walk through the maze of nutrition and food information.Annahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16511792627184497407noreply@blogger.com
